| DESCRIPTION - Enter a name or phrase you think might be part of a description of what is in the photo. Blauvelt Mansion, Hillsdale Station, etc. Keep your entry simple. The fewer words the broader the search. |
| KEYWORDS - Enter terms that might be used to describe the content of a photo you are searching for. Church would find all photos containing a church. Railroad station would find all RR Stations, etc. Entering two terms will only find photos with BOTH terms. |
| EVENT - Not in use yet but will eventually identify events like parades, centennials, etc. |
| LOCATION - Select a town from the list. |
| COLLECTION - Select a collection from the list if you wish to limit your search to that group of photos. |
| PEOPLE - Enter names to search for photos with specific people. Try last names along as many photos don't have first names included. |
| CATEGORY - Select a category from the list if you wish to limit your search to photos, postcards, advertisements, etc. |
| YEAR - Enter a four digit year to search for photos from that year. Enter the first three digits to search for photos from that decade. Entering 194 will search for any photos in the 1940s. |
| NOTE - You may use several fields at once. Searching in Park Ridge for photos with the keyword church from the 1940s containing a person named Demarest is an example. (We have no photos like that however) |
